Our story / Central Valley Junior Series
Junior golf grows when young players have a place to compete, people who believe in them, and a reason to come back.
Meet our founder01 / Our founder
Coach. Mentor.
Advocate for junior golf.
At the heart of Central Valley Junior Series is founder Mike Schy and a clear ambition: make tournament golf more accessible to junior players and their families.
Mike’s work in the Central Valley connects coaching with competitive opportunity. His efforts to build affordable junior tournaments reflect a belief at the center of this series: more young golfers should have the chance to experience the game beyond the practice range.
CVJS brings that purpose to the course through a community built around competition, encouragement and respect for the game.
02 / A coaching connection
Long before Bryson DeChambeau became a major champion, Mike Schy was one of his formative coaches in California’s Central Valley. Their work together is part of the region’s golf story, connecting a young player’s curiosity with a coach’s commitment to learning.
That history offers a meaningful perspective for junior golf: every player’s development starts somewhere, with time to practice, room to learn and people willing to help.
